About Me:
As a long-time Ward 5 Mississauga resident, parent, active community advocate, highly supported public education system. I am running to ensure every student in our community receives the support, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed in their career".
Key Qualification:
20+ years as an Associate Professor of Economics at various colleges and university; Master's in Economics; Master's in Library & Information Science; George Brown College Teacher Training Graduate.
Community Leadership:
Former Department Head, Student Counsellor, former Vice Chair at Morning Star Middle School Mississauga Parents Council, former active member of Parents Council, Community contributor at Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School Mississauga. Worked on various School projects.
Avtar is running to help build safer, stronger schools and a brighter future for every student in Ward 5. Her approachable leadership transforms community input into real results.
